Outside Sales - Business Development Representative - Industrial Supply

McCarty Equipment, a SunSource company, is a highly recognized value-added distributor and fabricator of hose. With 17 locations across North America, we provide a wide range of hose, valves, gaskets, fittings and tools. We have the capability to provide support for all your industrial and MRO needs with a vast array of tools, hand tools, fasteners, consumables, and a factory authorized tool repair facility.

We are currently seeking a motivated salesperson to work in our Odessa, TX location. The successful candidate will be responsible for sales activities in their assigned territory and be responsible for identifying and targeting potential customers in surrounding areas of the Permian Basin.

Essential Functions

  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
  • Follow up and develop new targets, leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Sell company products and services to current and potential clients
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge
  • Prepare presentations, proposals for current and potential customers
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, and follow-up.
  • Identify and resolve client concerns.
  • Work effectively with Inside Sales staff.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, etc.
  • Provide on-the-job training to customers employees.
  • Be able to travel overnight to defined areas for sales activities

Experience, Education and Skills

  • Highschool Diploma / GED
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, engineering or similar is preferred
  • 5+ years experience OR combination or education, training and experience in industrial sales
  • 1+ years experience in the sales of fluid conveyance products (hose, pipe, fitting, gasket) is preferred
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with standard business programs is required (MS Office, MS Excel, Outlook, CRM etc.)
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Some overnight travel may be required
