Forklift Operator
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate loading and unloading of products within the distribution center.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Process customer orders including but not limited to scanning bar codes, picking pallets and labeling pallets
- Process orders using RF technology, focusing on damage prevention
- Load and off-load inbound and outbound shipments utilizing the WMS
- Report discrepancies between the inventory count and shipping / receiving documents
- Locate and retrieve products as well as replenishes picking locations

High School diploma or GED preferred1 Year Experience with Material Handling Equipment at least one piece of equipment is required and multiple pieces are preferred (Reach Trucks, Counterbalance (slip and clamp), and Dock Stocker)Ability to obtain a forklift certificationAbility to read and interpret distribution documentsRequired to operate MHE and use an RF scannerBasic analytical, organizational and prioritization skillsGeneral distribution knowledgeStrong initiative and drive for resultsGood verbal communication skillsAbility to work under minimal supervisionSafety vest and safety shoes requiredPhysical Demands :
While performing this job, the associate is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing / pulling, grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers. The associate may occasionally be required to climb. The job may require lifting over 50lbs in some areas but not all. Associate must have normal field of vision corrected to 20 / 40 in each eye and must have sufficient hearing to safely operate in a manufacturing / distribution environment.Work Environment :
The noise level is moderate to loud.There will almost always be exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, exposure to precarious situations.Occasionally the position will have exposure to fumes / airborne particles.The warehouse is temperature controlled, maintaining comfortable consistent temperature year round.At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
