American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a compact or ID RN license and current certifications on night shifts.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital on the Women's Services floor, Labor & Delivery unit10 L&D beds, 2 dedicated OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 10 postpartum bedsHandles laboring patients 32 weeks and greater, elective and medical inductions, stable antepartum, postpartum, and well newbornsPatient ratios follow AWHONN standards : primarily 1 : 1 in L&D and 1 : 6 in postpartumAverage of 120 births per month on the unit12-hour night shifts are requiredFloating required to like units at other area L&D facilities within approximately a 20-minute drive, with notice given prior to shiftNo on-call or standby requirementsUses Epic EMR and GE Connect electronic fetal monitoringRNs are responsible for all aspects of L&D, postpartum, circulating in ORs for C-sections, and providing couplet careWorks closely with a 24 / 7 onsite charge RN, resource RN, house supervisor, CNA, and unit clerkOB hospitalist present 24 / 7, midwives on call, and neonatal NP available 24 / 7Blue scrubs are provided on the unitCustomized orientation typically consists of 4-6 shifts based on traveler experienceHoliday and weekend shifts may be required based on unit needsPermanent staff must have a one-year separation before applying as a travelerNo blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted\n \n Requirements\n
Active ID or compact RN license required at the time of applicationMinimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and circulating experience requiredAdvanced certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, Stable (taken at least once), and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring requiredExperience titrating labor medications including Pitocin and magnesium sulfate requiredTriage experience strongly preferredMust provide two professional references : one from a supervisor (within the past 12 months) and one from a peer or supervisor (within the past 3 years), including dates of employment and rehire eligibilityValid driver's license requiredNo local candidates within a 50-mile radius\n Benefits\n
