Position Summary :
The Radiologic Technologist Cardiac Cath Lab (RT-CCL) under the supervision of a licensed Cardiologist, assists in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias in the Cath Lab. The RT-CCL will be responsible for assisting with the following procedures; basic diagnostic catheterization procedures, IABP placement and operation, implantation of pacemaker, ICD, and BIV ICD. The RT-CCL will be responsible for room preparations and breakdown to include stocking rooms, daily QC checks, radiographic, hemodynamic and computer setup, and room cleanup. Using sterilization procedures will sterilize equipment used during procedures. The RT-CCL will monitor the status of the patient during the procedure; provide age and gender specific care, and at times may perform EKG lead placement, blood pressure and pulse oximetry setup for hemodynamic monitoring. The RT-CCL will acquire and accurately document pertinent patient data in the electronic health record and enter into hemodynamic and X-ray systems. The RT-CCL will operates all physiologic and radiographic equipment safely and correctly, assess procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met. The RT-CCL will educate the patient of procedure expectations before, during and after the procedure including post-procedural limitations and restrictions. Additional duties may include but are not limited to; preparing charts, charging procedures, scheduling, and orientation of new staff. The RT-CCL will complete other duties as assigned.

Any staff member can be determined as essential staff required to report to the facility during these events. In many cases this means reporting and sleeping at the facility before, during and after a weather emergency. By signing this job description, the staff member accepts this responsibility of readiness to report to work during any designated emergency staffing situation. CMC staff members operate as one team meeting the healthcare needs of our communities, thus this position will on occasion complete other duties as assigned beyond those designated in this primary job description which may include "float" coverage at an alternate facility, department or assignment.
