Work Schedule : Typically 40 hours / week, 5 days / week; requires flexible availability including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation Hourly Rate : $22.00 – $25.00 (starting rate determined by verified experience and education; new hires typically offered between the 25th percentile and midpoint).
Pay Frequency : Bi-monthly.
Overtime : Eligible for overtime pay at 1.5× regular rate for hours over 8 / day or 40 / week (or per applicable Wage Order).
Annual Review : Performance-based wage review conducted each year.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Program Instructor and Executive Director, the Instructional Assistant delivers employment-focused instruction, job development, mentoring, and community-based support to adults with disabilities throughout Los Angeles County. The role emphasizes competitive integrated employment (CIE), person-centered planning, and full inclusion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Performed in office, various community-based settings, and remote settings as assigned)
Deliver direct instruction and mentoring in career readiness, soft skills, and job-specific competencies.Conduct job development : identify integrated employment opportunities, perform job-site analyses, and facilitate applications / interviews.Provide on-site and virtual coaching and support for participants in mentorships, academic / trade programs, and apprenticeships.Implement Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals, SMART objectives, task analyses, and adaptive strategies.Complete required documentation in Therap (daily notes, attendance, progress data) and maintain confidential case files.Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (instructors, counselors, employers, families, Regional Center staff).Train / shadow new staff on participant-specific supports.Report emergencies immediately per agency protocol.Attend mandatory trainings and staff development.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent AND one of the following :A) 48 semester (72 quarter) college units in education, social services, rehabilitation, or related field; ORB) Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.Experience
1 year paid experience providing instructional support to adults in an educational or structured program.Experience with individuals with disabilities in community-integrated settings preferred .Job development or supported employment experience is a plus.Skills & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office, online learning platforms, and mobile documentation apps.Excellent verbal and written communication (English required; Spanish desirable).Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multitask under deadlines.Valid CA driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.Ability to pass a live-scan background check.Physical & Environmental Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided via interactive process)
