Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year within a K-12 public school setting in Lapeer, MI. This contract role, spanning from August 25, 2025, through June 4, 2026, provides the opportunity to deliver critical speech and language services to students across kindergarten through 12th grade.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of students speech and language abilities
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing multidisciplinary evaluations such as METs (Multidisciplinary Evaluation Teams) and IEPTs (Individualized Education Program Teams)
  • Writing and presenting detailed evaluation reports to parents / guardians and local educational agencies
  • Collaborating with teachers, principals, support staff, and families to evaluate and enhance program effectiveness
  • Providing ongoing consultation to educational staff and families
  • Completing Medicaid and other required reporting documentation to ensure compliance
  • Working within Local Education Agencies (LEAs) with potential supervision support provided by paraprofessionals, RBTs, CNAs, or LPNs

Qualifications :

  • Hold a current Michigan Speech-Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC)
  • Experience working with K-12 student populations in a school-based setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, families, educators, and administration
  • Ability to manage caseload efficiently within a full-time schedule
