The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Tennessee is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Director of Social Emotional Wellness to support the emotional and behavioral well-being of our youth. In this critical leadership role, you'll shape trauma-informed practices, support staff development, and connect families with vital community resources. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and support trauma-informed practices across Club sites
- Collaborate with Club staff to address behavioral needs and member challenges
- Identify and respond to gaps in services, including family crisis, mental health, peer issues, and substance use prevention
- Provide expert input on individual member concerns and support staff response
- Develop and maintain community partnerships for referrals and wraparound services
- Supervise MSW interns and coordinate with university field placement programs
- Engage with parents, schools, and external agencies as needed
- Contribute to grants and program funding opportunities
- May be required to drive a Club van on occasion
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited college or universityKnowledge of youth development practices and trauma-informed careStrong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and problem-solve with minimal supervisionCPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across departments and with community partnersPreferred Qualifications
Master's in Social Work (MSW) with LMSW certification preferredAt least one year of experience working with underserved or at-risk youth populationsWork Environment & Physical Requirements
This position involves both office and active youth program environments. Must be able to :
Stand, walk, and sit for extended periodsOccasionally lift up to 50 poundsWork outdoors in varying weather conditions when requiredRespond quickly and physically to emergencies involving childrenWhy Join Us?
