Job description

This Paralegal position is a fully remote role open to residents of California, Washington, Arizona, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and Florida only. Candidate must have California Civil Litigation experience and knowledge. Must be available 8-5 PST. Please note that only PDFs can be uploaded.ResponsibilitiesConduct legal research on statutes, rules of procedure, and case law to support case strategy and document preparation.Draft, review, revise, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, contracts, discovery responses, settlements, and dismissal paperwork.Prepare templates and shells for client matters, ensuring consistency and accuracy.File legal documents with courts, government agencies, and the State Bar, including e-filing across jurisdictions.Assist with trial preparation, including binders, subpoenas, expert materials, and witness prep.Organize and maintain legal case files, ensuring they are accurate, up to date, and properly archived.Track deadlines and case-related tasks to ensure timely progression.Support client onboarding and setup, and manage external communications with discretion and professionalism.Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and meetings by compiling and summarizing key information.Practice daily contemporaneous billing through Clio.Contribute to a compassionate, client-centered mission and a positive team culture.QualificationsCertificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program, or equivalent education and experience as outlined in California law.3+ years of experience in a law firm or legal department as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or equivalent role.Strong understanding of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal research methodologies.Exceptional proofreading, editing, and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal billing platforms (Clio preferred).Experience with California State Bar matters is strongly desired.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Personal AttributesA detail-obsessed professional who takes pride in getting it right the first time.Emotionally intelligent, morally grounded, and unafraid to ask hard questions or speak up when something doesnt sit right.A team player who shows up with humility, accountability, and a sense of purpose.Why Join Us?Work remotely with a flexible, purpose-driven team.Make a meaningful impact in a unique practice area.Help shape the future of legal ethics and attorney rehabilitation. Cha Law Ethics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
