AdventHealth Graduate Medical Education in Winter Park (part of the AdventHealth Central Region) is seeking a dynamic, hardworking, and broadly skilled Geriatrician with a passion for teaching to join our Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program. As a core faculty member, you’ll engage in delivering exceptional geriatric care across multiple clinical settings—including outpatient, nursing homes, and home visits—while mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students from Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Florida State University College of Medicine.
About the Program
Our ACGME-accredited fellowship, established in 1998, trains Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians in comprehensive geriatrics through a 12-month immersive curriculum. The program emphasizes holistic elder care—spanning institutional and home care, rehabilitation, palliative medicine, pharmacology, psychosocial factors, and more.
Fellows rotate through :
- Inpatient and outpatient clinics
- Skilled nursing facilities and assisted living
- Geriatric psychiatry, hospice care, home health, and rehabilitation
- Community outreach and geriatric pharmacy
They work alongside four board-certified Geriatric faculty and contribute to teaching across interdisciplinary teams.
Faculty Responsibilities
Serve as a key educator within the fellowship and affiliated residency programs.Lead comprehensive geriatric assessment clinics, nursing home rounds, and home visit teaching sessions.Conduct your own outpatient clinic and deliver didactic lectures and learner evaluations.Foster academic excellence by supervising fellows, medical students, and residents in diverse clinical environments.Engage with interdisciplinary support teams, including social workers, pharmacists, care coordinators, psychologists, and integrated medicine specialists.Promote and market the geriatrics program within the institution and in the community.Qualifications
Board Certification in Family or Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine (AOA or ABMS) required.Demonstrated experience in academic medicine with strong clinical teaching abilities.Excellent communication skills and alignment with AdventHealth’s mission of “whole-person care.”Ability and desire to develop a patient base and advocate for the geriatrics program.Note : J-1 and H-1 visa sponsorships are not available .
