Description :
The position requires a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Emergency Room nursing.
The nurse will work a 12-hour night shift from 6 : 00 PM to 6 : 30 AM.
The facility is a Level 2 trauma center for adults and pediatrics.
It features 35 beds with 2 trauma bays.
The ER treats an average of 111 patients each day.
The nurse will be responsible for using the ESI triage algorithm.
Common diagnoses include a mix of trauma, violent crime, strokes, and respiratory illnesses in pediatric patients.
Critical care drips will be managed by the nursing staff.
The team includes MDs and mid-level providers, especially during peak times.
Support staff such as LPNs, techs, and paramedics will assist.
Respiratory therapists respond to all codes and handle respiratory tasks.
Nurses will be responsible for reading telemetry strips.
X-ray and CT services are available next door for patient transport as needed.
The nursing team will also perform blood draws and lab work.
Weekend and holiday work will be required every other schedule.
There is no call or standby requirement for this position.
The scrub color designated for this role is Caribbean Blue.
This position has a cancellation policy of 2 shifts per 13-week assignment.
