Location
This role offers remote flexibility but requires 50%+ travel to meet with prospects, clients, and internal team members. The ideal candidate will reside in the Eastern or Central United States, preferably near one of our corporate office locations.
Primary Purpose Of Position
The Business Development Manager for Transactional Solutions at Constellation is responsible for managing solution sales and acquiring new business through channel partners and supporting commodity BDMs' customer needs by focusing on efficiency and volume.
Primary Duties And Accountabilities
- Position solutions effectively by leveraging deep knowledge of the solutions platform to promote energy products and services to customers and partners.
- Manage sales and customer relationships by conducting outbound and inbound communications with channel partners and customers to drive retention, build pipeline, and close deals.
- Develop and maintain channel partnerships by establishing long-term relationships through superior service and timely responses.
- Support team goals and values by collaborating with internal teams to resolve customer issues and managing transaction pipelines to meet annual goals.
- Support Constellation's values and culture goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience.In lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience required.2 years of channel sales experience.Demonstrated ability to close transactions and achieve sales targets.Strong communication skills (verbal and written).Proven success in a customer-facing role, demonstrating effective communication and service skills.Self-motivated, driven to achieve success, and focused on personal continuous improvement.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work.Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.Have demonstrated a strong proficiency in navigating CRM-type systems.Computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Travel required as necessary to meet business needs and in-person attendance for trainings, all-hands meetings, and other moments that matter.Preferred Qualifications
Building Energy Efficiency, EME, or Building Automation knowledge.Knowledge of finance and interest rates or experience putting together financing deals for energy efficiency projects.Experience with CRM systems.Knowledge and experience in Energy Markets and Sustainability.Sales experience in Energy Efficiency Solutions, including lighting, mechanical systems, VFDs, and controls.5 years of specific Energy Industry Experience.Constellation is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
