Tax Director, National Office (Section 382)

Join a high-performing national tax team as the firm’s Section 382 subject matter expert. This hands‑on Director role will lead complex ownership change analyses, drive strategic tax planning, and play a key role in developing and mentoring the next generation of technical talent.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead Section 382 studies encompassing ownership change assessments, limitation modeling, and strategic planning
  • Train and mentor managers, seniors and senior staff on technical competencies and deliverable execution
  • Analyze transaction costs, tax attributes, and NOL utilization across complex organizational structures
  • Deliver high‑impact client deliverables, including reports, models, and technical memos
  • Serve as a key advisor to clients and internal teams on federal and transactional tax issues
  • Support business development efforts, including proposals and technical content

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant tax experience within public accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role involving clients and team members
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills
  • Proven ability to lead client engagements and deliver high‑quality work independently
  • Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA, JD, or equivalent professional credential
  • Big 4 or national firm experience
  • Familiarity with OneSource, GoSystems, Power BI, or Alteryx
  • Exposure to M&A tax structuring and transaction modeling highly desirable
