Summary
We are looking for high energy and loving people to add to our growing team. We are looking for people interested in working with 1, 2, and 3 year old students.
Our lead teachers will exhibit the following traits :
- Demonstrate a genuine love for children, and respect children as individuals, not showing favoritism to any child
- Have knowledge and understanding of child development and the needs of young children (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Understand and support the mission, philosophy, purpose, and goals of TSL Roots
- Maintain positive working relationships with teaching staff and families
- Demonstrate self-motivation and desire to continue learning to increase knowledge and skills
- Certified and up-to-date in CPR / AED (infant, child, and adult) / First Aid / Shaken Baby / SIDS
- Communicate with children, families, and other staff to be clearly understood
- Maintain confidentiality and refrain from gossip
Duties
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Prepare weekly lesson plans that address children’s goals and post them by 8 am on MondayMaintain a warm, safe, orderly, and clean classroom environmentDisplay strong classroom management skillsInteract and play with children; do not simply superviseInitiate positive daily contact with parents, share appropriate information, and treat all parents equally and with respectMaintain up-to-date student records including daily reports medical logs, observations, assessments, and goals (updated at least monthly)Supervise classroom assistant teacher by assigning tasks and ensuring they are completedRequirements
To follow WI State Licensing regulations, we require that all lead teachers :
Must be 18 years of ageHave a high school diploma or equivelentUndergo and pass a background checkUndergo and pass a pre-employment physical exam and TB skin testAre certified in CPR, AED, and first aid within 90 days of beginning employmentAssociates Degree or CDANice To Haves
Bachlelor's Degree in Education
