About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a 90-day locum tenens assignment in Louisiana. This position starts Jan 5, 2026, and features 24-hour call coverage for 3–4 days per week, plus one clinic day each week. The role involves inpatient rounding, surgical consults, and Emergency Room call coverage, offering a dynamic and rewarding clinical environment for locum professionals interested in advanced cardiovascular and thoracic care.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform inpatient rounding for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
  • Provide surgical consults and assessments
  • Deliver Emergency Room call coverage
  • Conduct outpatient clinic visits one day per week, managing 15-20 post-operative patients
  • Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
