About the Role :
The Patient Care Tech at Palo Pinto General Hospital plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by providing compassionate and attentive care to patients. This position focuses on assisting patients with their daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their hospital stay. The Patient Care Tech acts as a critical liaison between patients and nursing staff, helping to communicate patient needs and changes in condition promptly. By performing routine clinical tasks and maintaining a clean and organized environment, this role contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and quality of care. Ultimately, the Patient Care Tech helps to create a supportive and healing environment that promotes patient well-being and recovery.

The Patient Care Tech utilizes strong interpersonal and communication skills daily to interact compassionately with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members. Clinical skills such as taking vital signs, assisting with patient hygiene, and performing basic medical procedures are essential for providing high-quality care and ensuring patient safety. Organizational skills are important for maintaining a clean and orderly environment and managing multiple patient care tasks efficiently. Problem-solving abilities help the Patient Care Tech respond appropriately to patient needs and unexpected situations. Additionally, proficiency with healthcare technology, including electronic health records, enhances documentation accuracy and supports seamless care coordination.
This position is scheduled to work days from 6 : 45 AM through 6 : 45 PM. The days worked may change per schedule.
This position is budgeted for 36 hours per week (.90 FTE) but may require additional hours based on the needs of the department. This position is eligible for overtime and shift differentials, if applicable.
