Position Overview:


Europa Village Winery is seeking an experienced Banquet Captain to provide hands-on direction, leadership, training, and support for the banquet team during assigned events and daily to maintain department readiness. By aligning with our core values, strategic goals and objectives, this individual will work closely with the Banquet Managers, the sales and catering team, and different managers, supervisors, and employees across the property. This is a dynamic role that will support a large staff of up to 40 team members. The ideal candidate will have a passion for service with a motivating and energetic personality. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential and prior banquet experience is required.

This is a part-time hourly position with a Company that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. A successful candidate must be available and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • 13 years of banquet or large-scale event service experience (10+ team members).
  • Experience implementing standard operating procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certifications required.
  • Full schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
Responsibilities Specific to Banquet Captain:

  • Train, coach, and supervise banquet team members while supporting all safety policies and procedures.
  • Review BEOs each shift and ensure all rooms, equipment, and staff are fully prepared before event start times.
  • Oversee setup and presentation of tables, buffets, action stations, and service equipment to company standards.
  • Monitor service execution to ensure timely, consistent, and synchronized guest service.
  • Maintain inventory, handling, storage, and security of banquet equipment.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and escalate when necessary to ensure satisfaction.
  • Supervise breakdown, post-event cleanup, and completion of event summaries/reports.
  • Assist with event staffing and scheduling coordination.

  • Help maintain the cleanliness and presentation of facilities and grounds.
  • Perform physically demanding duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, bending, and working indoors/outdoors.
  • Remain flexible, positive, and willing to assist wherever needed.
