SUMMARY
TURNER is looking for an Integrated Communications Intern to join the team in the Denver or New York office. Under the guidance of a TURNER team member, the internship will provide the selected candidate(s) with the opportunity to gain experience working in a travel, tourism and lifestyle PR firm. This position is hybrid. Students will be compensated $20.00 per hour for their participation in this program.
TURNER strives to make its internship program one of the best in the nation. Interns are introduced to a wide cross-section of public relations and digital media, including research, reporting, media and influencer relations, content development, social media, a whole lot of writing and special events. Interns are also involved in some broader office activities, including team meetings and brainstorming sessions. TURNER seeks to provide interns with the tactical experience that will help them build a meaningful resume and portfolio, in addition to meeting their individual needs and career goals.
At The Shipyard, we know that it's your unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives that make you who you are, just like our team, who come from various career paths and experiences. We believe we can't be truly diverse without bringing your most authentic self to the agency.
Studies show that people from marginalized communities may not always apply for positions if they don't meet every single requirement in a job posting. At The Shipyard, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the requirements. We believe that your passion for what we stand for — our values and purpose — is just as important as meeting every checkbox.

TURNER’s Commitment to Professional Development
At TURNER, we are committed to providing interns with ongoing feedback to ensure that both the student and the agency receive the most out of the internship experience.
For that reason, TURNER will pair each intern with a mentor. The mentor will supervise the intern’s progress, work to establish professional development goals, and consult with other team leaders to ensure the intern is receiving a well-rounded experience.
As further evidence of our commitment, TURNER has developed an internship evaluation to assess each intern’s performance at the end of the internship experience. The evaluation enables students to understand which of their public relations skills are primary strengths and which may need further development. The intern is also asked to evaluate the internship program and provide input on how TURNER can make the experience even more valuable for future students.
Upon completion of the internship, the student will have a thorough understanding of the skills, knowledge and experience required to succeed in, as well as have a greater insight into his / her personal strengths and interests.
