The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in this full-time position plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring high-quality patient care within our facility. This role involves direct patient interaction, clinical support, and administrative duties that contribute to the smooth operation of the healthcare team. The CMA will facilitate communication between Spanish-speaking patients and medical staff, enhancing patient understanding and comfort. By accurately performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with procedures, the CMA helps maintain efficient and effective healthcare delivery. Ultimately, this position is essential in promoting positive health outcomes and patient satisfaction in a culturally competent environment.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and administering injections as required.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Podiatry experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Experience with patient education and health promotion activities.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Greet and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout the visit.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information accurately.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by preparing instruments and supplies.
  • Facilitate clear communication between Spanish-speaking patients and medical staff to ensure accurate information exchange.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and processing insurance information.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards at all times.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare team members to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency.
  • Skills :

    The required bilingual communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring they understand medical instructions and feel supported. Clinical skills such as taking vital signs and assisting with procedures are used daily to provide direct patient care and support healthcare providers. Proficiency with electronic health records and administrative software enables accurate documentation and efficient scheduling, which are critical for smooth clinic operations. Preferred skills like CPR certification and knowledge of billing enhance the candidate’s ability to contribute to patient safety and administrative accuracy. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills help the CMA manage multiple tasks, collaborate with the healthcare team, and maintain a welcoming environment for all patients.
