Job Summary :
Leads all aspects of operational workflows, resources, standards, policies, and procedures related to the decontamination, inspection, high level disinfection, sterilization, and distribution of inventoried items within the system. Conducts ongoing review of Regional Sterile Processing policies, procedures, and guidelines; implements revisions as necessary. Continually assesses all services, identifies problems, utilizes data to analyze and propose innovative approaches for solutions.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements :
Primary Responsibilities
Education :
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education
Experience :
Seven years' experience, with five years in direct people management / leadership
Physical Requirements :
Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent reaching and gripping. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot / leg and hand / arm movements. Occasional lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Occasional use of smell to detect / recognize odors. Rare crawling, sitting and keyboard use / data entry.
Required Professional License and / or Certifications :
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
