Responsibilities
Employer Development and Engagement
Assist with the direction of the employer development program by fostering strong relationships between Business Career Services and employers. This includes overseeing and enhancing employer relations efforts, designing and implementing industry-specific initiatives locally and nationwide, and leading special projects focused on employer relations within BCS.
Serve as the primary BCS contact for employers, identifying and developing strategic employer recruitment plans that enhance relationships for experiential learning, internships and full-time hiring opportunities.
Develop comprehensive strategies and strategic partnerships with companies and organizations that are aligned with the interests and career goals of College of Business students.
Leverage the strength of the college’s alumni network, key employers, talent acquisition and business community to enrich student experiences and professional development while sustaining a strong and supportive ecosystem. Enhance student job placement opportunities by increasing job placement rates, improving average starting salaries and expanding corporate networking initiatives.
Employer Network Expansion, Engagement and Stewardship
Utilize effective strategies, leveraging expertise in recruitment strategies, to expand the college’s employer network. Develop initiatives that ensure consistent and sustainable growth of employer partnerships while actively managing and optimizing associated revenue streams.
Oversee the development of the BCS Employer Partners Program, ensuring robust participation and satisfaction from employers and students alike.
Liaise with the college’s business development and advancement professionals to identify and cultivate relationships with potential corporate sponsors to enhance support for BCS and the college broadly.
Develop and implement stewardship strategies to maintain corporate loyalty and engagement, expressing appreciation for support through various communication channels.
Travel at least 50% of the time and maintain flexibility to adapt to a varied schedule to build and maintain relationships with employers, recruiters, alumni, parents and other key stakeholders within the FSU community. Seasonal travel aligns with industry specific recruitment cycles while including visits to employer sites and participation at alumni engagement events, corporate tours as well as other college-related initiatives and projects.
Program Management and Execution
Design and implement curated employer engagement events and initiatives serving as a bridge between students and the talent acquisition community, ensuring a unique and valuable student and employer experience.
Direct the seamless integration of the college’s Career Expo, networking events, workshops, seminars and career readiness programs.
Act as a liaison between employers, faculty, and students to ensure alignment and communication regarding recruitment needs and opportunities.
Increase the visibility and accessibility of BCS by actively engaging with employers, partners, and students both on and off campus. Broaden the college’s reach beyond campus through customized employer development programs.
Collaborate with the dean’s leadership team and key stakeholders to cultivate and execute strategic corporate partnerships.
Conduct ongoing research, benchmarking, and analysis of industry trends and best practices in employer relations to develop and implement innovative career services initiatives that enhance employer and corporate partnerships while positioning the college as a leader in career development.

Career Events Coordination and Initiatives
Develop, manage and coordinate the college’s Career Expo, networking events, and employer-led workshops, ensuring effective communication with relevant campus departments and stakeholders. Create and offer tailored and ad hoc solutions to companies looking to establish a robust campus presence.
Organize and set the annual recruiting calendar, scheduling the Career Expo, workshops, employer information sessions, interviews, and employer panels in close collaboration with the dean’s office and academic departments to ensure alignment of the college’s calendar.
Recruit volunteers (faculty, staff, students and alumni) to participate in employer-related events, creating an engaging environment for all stakeholders.
Support the creation and oversight of the BCS Advisory Board to foster innovation and program development in alignment with industry and workforce needs and student career aspirations.
Strategic Analysis and Reporting
Leverage technology and social media to enhance employer engagement. This includes close collaboration with the college’s marketing and communication team.
Oversee the management and continuous update of the BCS relationship management (CRM) database and BCS's career management platforms to ensure accurate records and effective tracking of employer interactions and student placement.
Assist with developing and monitoring the performance metrics and success indicators for employer engagement and student placement initiatives. This includes developing quantitative targets for new employer partnerships, setting specific goals for internship and job placement rates across various academic programs, and measuring student and employer satisfaction with Business Career Services through surveys and focus groups.
Maintain accurate records of employer interactions, recruitment metrics, and program evaluations to enhance employer development activities and overall career services. Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and initiatives, ensuring precise tracking and reporting of employer partnerships and student outcomes.
Assist with updating the BCS Employer Relations website and developing related policies and procedures to ensure clear communication and compliance.
Qualifications
Do you have a Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to an administrative service; or a high school diploma / equivalent and experience equal to eight years in the same? (Note : post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Preferred Qualifications
A master’s degree or higher in business or a related field from an accredited institution.
