Pay Range : $37,363 - $49,218

Job Summary :

A 911 Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, quickly assessing situations, and dispatching the appropriate emergency services. The role requires clear communication, quick decision-making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Dispatchers must efficiently operate specialized communication systems and adhere to emergency protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Receive reports of fires, crimes or disturbances over the telephone, in person, or by radio.
• Gather and document essential details, including location and nature of incidents.
• Prioritize calls and determine the appropriate emergency response.
• Dispatch police, fire, or ambulance units by telephone or radio.
• Stay in contact with responding units and provide updates as needed.
• Offer guidance and reassurance to callers in distress.
• Maintain accurate records of calls and responses.
• Perform a variety of clerical duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
