We are hiring Intermediate Fiber Optic Technicians to support the construction of our LNG projects.
Candidates must have 5 years of verifiable fiber optic experience.
Telecom fiber technicians are welcome to apply — LNG-specific training and site orientation will be provided for qualified candidates.
Core Technical Requirements (Telecom & General Fiber)
- Fusion and mechanical splicing of SM (single-mode) and MM (multi-mode) fiber.
- Termination and polishing of SC, LC, ST, and MPO connectors with scope inspection.
- Proficiency with OTDR, power meter, light source, and VFL testing; ability to produce and interpret reports.
- Installation of fiber optic cable in aerial, underground, tray, duct bank, and building environments.
- Familiarity with fiber color codes, splice schematics, and routing practices.
- Skilled in cable pulling, dressing, reel setup, and conduit routing.
Industrial & LNG Plant Skills (Preferred)
Fiber routing in hazardous classified areas (Class I, Div 1 & 2 / ATEX).Integration of fiber into SCADA, DCS, fire & gas detection, ESD, CCTV, and tank monitoring systems.Knowledge of armored fiber cable, explosion-proof enclosures, and conduit segregation rules.Experience coordinating with Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) teams.Ability to perform cable pulls in pipe racks and duct banks within operating LNG plants.(Telecom fiber techs without LNG experience will be trained for industrial applications.)
Safety & Compliance
Strict adherence to OSHA and site safety standards.Knowledge of or willingness to train in Permit to Work (PTW) systems.Risk assessments, JHAs, toolbox talks.Confined space entry, atmospheric testing, tripod rescue, and blower ventilation.H2S monitoring, gas detection, and LEL alarm procedures.Documentation & Communication
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, splice schematics, BE / BI diagrams, and fiber maps.Strong troubleshooting and decision-making under pressure.Clear communication with control rooms, SCADA operators, supervisors, and telecom NOCs.Skilled in Excel and digital reporting tools for test logs and as-built documentation.Certifications & Training
