As part of TCEQ Office of the Chief Clerk, you would help support the logistical and operational structure for TCEQ statewide the business foundation for the whole agency.
This position is a member of our Office of the Chief Clerk Division.
Heres What Youll Be Doing
Receive, prepare, and disseminate documents in support of the administrative procedures of the Office of the Chief Clerk. Verify completeness and accuracy of documents. Communicate and assist with resolving any identified discrepancies. Route information to appropriate staff within the Office of the Chief Clerk. Maintain files in accordance with TCEQ and Office of the Chief Clerk file procedures. Create new files and distribute to appropriate staff. Code closed files and prepare for delivery to the Central File Room. Maintain electronic data files in accordance with agency standards and office procedures. Create data records for new files by entering complex permitting data into program databases. Track progress of permitting projects and close database records for closed files. Provide back-up front desk coverage. Open and close the Office of the Chief Clerk. Explain and disseminate information concerning Office of the Chief Clerk work and procedures. Assist in the collection, organization, and preparation of technical material in response to requests from customers. Direct customers to appropriate areas within the Office of the Chief Clerk.
Key Qualifications
Experience entering data into databases. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (includes : Word and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and / or using the Internet as a research tool. Bilingual speaking in English and Spanish (as reported on Employment Application). Qualifications : Required Education Experience Graduation from standard senior high school or its equivalent plus three years of full-time experience providing administrative support in an office setting. Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience.
Career Ladder Progression
Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as an Administrative Assistant III. Transcript / College Hours or Course Work : See instructions on how to attach documents. A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the qualifications listed above. Current TCEQ Employees This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Administrative Assistant IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Administrative Assistant IV series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the Office of the Chief Clerk.
