Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Cardiac Stress Testing Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 8 Experience : Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in Stress Testing License : IL RN License Certifications : ACLS, BLS Must-Have : Must be able to perform independently Experience in Exercise Echocardiogram, Dobutamine Exercise Echocardiogram, and Nuclear Medicine Stress Test (Lexiscan) Description : ASAP start required. The RN will work independently with the ability to perform 4-6 stress tests on average per day. Current stress test days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A cardiologist may be on-site or the RN will work under the supervision of a Hospitalist / ER MD for emergencies and questions. The RN will collaborate with nuclear medicine technicians, who will administer medications. Skills Required : 12 Lead EKG Exercise Stress Tests Pharmacological Stress Tests Stress Echocardiograms Monitoring and Test Interpretation Starting Peripheral IVs Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias Follow-up phone calls Providing discharge instructions Advanced knowledge in : Calculating Rate, Pressure, and Product Understanding contraindications to stress testing Familiarity with various ergometry protocols, including arm, bicycle, leg, and treadmill protocols Knowledge of treadmill protocols such as Balke, Bruce, Modified Bruce, Costill, Ellestad, and Naughton Indications for terminating a procedure Interdisciplinary Support : Collaboration with respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, and pharmacy professionals. Patient Age Groups : Adults and geriatrics. Additional Unit Information : The RN will be responsible for delivering care in a high-demand setting. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
