Description :
Department : Physical Therapy
Number of patients treated per day : 3-11
Common diagnoses / types of patients : All age groups from infants to geriatrics, including pelvic floor, hands, post-stroke, total joints, and pediatric patients with autism
Areas covered : Inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care; typically assigned to a specific area with the potential to float to help cover another area
Job duties include being adaptable and willing to treat a diverse patient population
Team consists of PTs, OTs, clerks, and a manager
Support staff includes rehab aides and massage therapists
Some flexibility in scheduling; manager sets schedules
No weekend or holiday requirements
Dress code : Professional attire or scrubs
Orientation involves 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
The team includes 10 therapists who are available as resources for travelers
Friendly environment for travelers, including participation in staff activities and gatherings
Community offers numerous outdoor activities and is known for its small-town living
Additional consideration : 30% of the local population speaks Spanish
