Direct, supervise and disciple summer camp maintenance workers. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and work in all camp maintenance areas.
Be responsible for the spiritual welfare of the summer camp maintenance staff. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters. Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer. Prepare and deliver the Maintenance Crew Chief camp brief at the end of the summer. Assist with evening cabin supervision. Any other duties as assigned by the Food Service Administrator or Assistant Camp Administrator.
Enforce camp policies and procedures. Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times. Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.
Organize daily devotions for summer camp maintenance staff. Prepare written job assignments and schedules for summer camp maintenance staff. Supervise and direct the Maintenance Crew. Prepare / participate in the planning of daily devotions for the Maintenance Crew. Clean and prepare all areas for use by campers and guests : dust windows, doorways, and know down all cobwebs; sweep floors & porches; scrub bathroom sinks, showers, toilets, and clean mirrors; mop and disinfect bathroom shower & floor; re-stock all paper products; empty all trash & replace can liner, and take to main dumpster; check & replace burnt light bulbs; prior to the start of each camp session, close and lock all buildings and rooms not planned for program use; periodically check to make sure that buildings and rooms not in use remain locked; daily trash runs and litter patrol; build campfires & prepare sleep out locations as needed; assist with the upkeep and maintenance of all camp vehicles, including washing and waxing; after each use, clean & service all hand equipment including : weed whackers - check spark plug and refill with 2 cycle gas; lawn mowers - clean off clipping and refill with unleaded gas; blowers - clean and refuel with 2 cycle gas; keep the Maintenance Building neat & orderly at all times and keep all tools in their proper location; maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry rooms; assist with general maintenance projects as directed by the Operations Manager; chop firewood, or supervise summer camp maintenance staff chopping firewood, for evening programs; sweep and clean amphitheater in preparation for evening programs; prepare fire for evening Timberlake programs; set up sound systems for special events under director of the Media Specialist; supervise TLC setup and take down for "Big Chapel"; supervise end of week Timberlake carnival setup and take down; work on special projects as assigned; be a liaison between the summer camp maintenance crew and the year round staff.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to access and produce information from a computer. Ability to understand written information.

Paid Vacation : 2 weeks annually accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions. 4 weeks annually accruing from day one, for exempt positions. Accrued vacation eligible for use after 6 months' service time. Paid Holidays : 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year.
