Full-Time | Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm | Emergency Department
What You'll Do :
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician / Assistant , you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and client service, working closely with our doctors and technicians in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Support veterinarians and credentialed technicians in providing compassionate emergency care.
- Perform diagnostics including radiographs, urinalysis, bloodwork, fecals, and cytology .
- Administer medications via IV, SQ, IM, and PO routes.
- Place intravenous catheters and assist with sedated or anesthetized procedures such as wound repair or minor surgeries.
- Monitor and assist in hospitalized patient care, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Communicate clearly with clients, providing education and updates on patient care.
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately and safely.
- Maintain clean, stocked treatment and exam areas to support smooth hospital operations.
What We're Looking For :
Education & Credentials :
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of a Veterinary Technology program from an AVMA-accredited institution preferredLicensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in the state of Tennessee preferredExperience & Skills :
Minimum of 2 years of clinical veterinary experience (emergency or specialty experience highly preferred)A strong technical skill set including :Placing and maintaining IV catheters and central lines
Performing venipuncture and laboratory sample preparationMonitoring anesthesia and post-operative recoveryAdministering medications and fluid therapyHandling and restraining patients safely and compassionatelyUsing diagnostic equipment such as digital radiography, laboratory analyzers, and oxygen therapy systemsExcellent communication skills with the ability to provide empathetic client education and support.Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities with keen attention to detail.A proactive learner with the ability to adapt to evolving medical protocols and technologies.Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for animal care are must-haves.What We Offer :
