Description : JOB SUMMARY
On site position in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Install, upgrade, and maintain computer hardware and peripheral equipment. Assist in researching, planning, and implementing new technologies to improve staff efficiency and member service. Research and resolve problems for end users. Make recommendations and oversee maintenance of office equipment, including phone system, copiers, printers, fax machines, PCs, laptops, etc.
Requirements : ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the strategy and future direction of LAN technologies and protocols, voice over IP, telecommunications, hardware and software.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and their impact and cost to the credit union.
- Maintain the disaster recovery plan for the buildings, network, and connected devices.
- Install, modify, and / or maintain data communication systems (e.g. administer phone system, IM, chat, etc.). Provide technical support and consultation in the use and operations of complex computer operating systems.
- Install and test new software both for the network and for individual users.
- Maintain databases and libraries including systems security functions.
- Responsible for assigned technical aspects of conversions, file expansions, and interfaces.
- Remain knowledgeable of operations and the computer systems within departments to provide comprehensive assistance.
- Support the credit union’s local and wide area network hardware and software to ensure that back-end functions, systems, PCs, servers, and all peripheral products are operational.
- Research and diagnose IT problems within the entire infrastructure, troubleshoot, and provide solutions. Test solutions to ensure a correct solution.
- Provide and run backup procedures that maintain the integrity and security of the credit union’s technology infrastructure.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation and support services / warranties for new equipment, software, hardware, and peripherals.
- Ensure that all software licenses are maintained.
- Provide individual support to end users via the phone, in person, or on-line to answer questions or resolve problems.
- Reply to user problems on PCs and other devices to include software applications, systems integration, or individual hardware problems. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve the problem which may include the repair or replacement of copiers, printers, PCs, laptops, or other devices.
- Generate a variety of reports as requested.
- Perform a variety of other clerical duties of moderate scope and complexity.
- In partnership with all departments, prepare procedures and documentation for use, operation, back-up and recovery, problem resolution, shut-down and initialization, and process automation.
- Various security aspects including :
o Access control : Managing who can enter and exit the facility.
o Surveillance : Using cameras and monitoring systems to detect and deter unauthorized activity.
o Emergency response : Planning for and responding to incidents like fires, medical emergencies, or security breaches.
o Safety protocols : Implementing and enforcing safety rules and procedures.

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers / scanners, filling cabinets, 10-key calculator, and fax machines. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
The employee must be able to occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
