Our client, a dynamic organization within the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge consumer and B2B products, collaborating across disciplines to ensure designs are not only functional and visually appealing but also manufacturable. Responsibilities :
- Own the mechanical design process for a variety of consumer and B2B hardware products.
- Create clean, production-ready CAD models, drawings, and perform detailed tolerance analyses.
- Develop creative and practical solutions to complex mechanical and system-level challenges.
- Collaborate with industrial design, electrical, research, and UX teams to ensure holistic product development.
- Guide suppliers through DFM (Design for Manufacturing) reviews, tooling, and production builds.
- Support EVT / DVT / PVT builds, addressing and resolving manufacturing challenges as they arise.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate designs using 3D printing, machining, and other hands-on tools.
- Specify materials and manufacturing processes that align with product goals and constraints.
Must-Have Skills :
6+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering for consumer, medical, or B2B hardware products.Proven expertise in plastic part design, PCBA integration, and enclosure development.Demonstrated track record of taking products through EVT / DVT / PVT stages successfully.Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.Strong portfolio showcasing CAD screenshots, finished product photos, and detailed DFM / DFA case studies.Nice-to-Have Skills :
Experience working in a product design studio or consultancy, managing multiple clients and timelines.Hands-on prototyping experience, with a strong understanding of shop tools and 3D printing.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and incorporate feedback effectively.Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding and tolerance stack-up analysis.Passion for working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
