• The work is currently Remote but will be in Ashburn, VA, when operations return to normal Join our growing team of professionals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
• If selected, you will serve as an Agile Scrum team member providing UI / UX design and development for the delivery of releasable software in short sprint cycles.
• You will be responsible for activities associated with software projects by working in close collaboration with business analysts, software developers / engineers, stakeholders, and end users within Agile processes.

Responsibilities, but not limited to :

Ensuring product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports Providing mentoring to junior members of the team Qualifications :

Citizen with the ability to pass background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to :

Have experience designing applications, from consumer facing to internal tools Maintain a user-centered approach while respecting business needs Able to work and be effective in an agile design environment Knowledge of modern front-end systems and open source frameworks (Angular) Working knowledge of and ability to assist others in the use of design tools to support process improvement (Sketch, Invision, XD, etc) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong collaboration skills and desire to work within a team Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong work ethic and a self-starter Desired :

Ability and interest in educating others on user-centered design best practices Advanced understanding of Lean processes, and Agile principles Ability to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas Additionally, familiarity with any of the following is highly desirable :
