Day to day as a Lead Teacher - UPK

As a new Lead Teacher for our UPK program at Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo, you can expect a dynamic and engaging work environment. Your typical day will involve planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere, and collaborating with other team members to ensure the best outcomes for our students. Your schedule will primarily be Monday through Friday mornings, with some afternoons. You'll have the opportunity to participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.

What you need to be successful

To excel as a Lead Teacher for our UPK program at Jewish Community Center of Greater Buffalo, you must hold a NY State Teacher Certification in Early Childhood, Childhood, or Special Education. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. A passion for early childhood education, creativity in lesson planning, and the ability to adapt to diverse learning needs are key for success in this role. Experience with classroom management techniques and a solid understanding of child development principles will also support you in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for our students.
