Job Summary : The Server Administrator supports the daily operations for workstations and servers, and related hardware / software issues for the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the hardware / software support for all workstations and servers for all locations within the organization including installment and daily maintenance
  • Assists with installation and rollouts of new software packages, upgrades and new hardware
  • Works closely with other IT personnel to resolve server and network issues
  • Installs, configures, test, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots workstation and server software as required
  • Responsible for maintaining the Active Directory
  • Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of simple and complex workstation problems for a variety of end users, recommends and implements hardware solutions, including off-site repairs as needed
  • Receives and responds to incoming calls and / or e-mails regarding workstation and server problems
  • Works closely with third party vendors on current and ongoing contracts
  • Assist in supporting the following technologies : video-conferencing, telecommunications, LANs and WANs
  • Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as directed

    • Skills :

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 (Active Directory, WINS, DNS, RADIUS, Group Policy, DFS, WSUS)
  • Experience with HP servers (Proliant & Proliant Blade), VMware
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Server Virtualization, SharePoint Server, and Avaya IP telecommunications systems
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Defender, Microsoft Deployment Services, Microsoft SQL Server
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 / 10 (Desktop Administration) and Microsoft Office 356 Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher)

    • Work Environment :

  • Works primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential
  • Occasional travel is required

    • Physical Demands :

  • Ability to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basis
  • Ability to concentrate with various interruptions and various noise levels
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80 percent of the time
  • Occasionally will be expected to lift boxes not to exceed 50 pounds

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Related Field
  • 3-5 years of Server Support experience
