Assistant Montessori Teacher

The assistant is responsible for implementing the Montessori curriculum and philosophy under the supervision of the Lead teacher.

The general duties of the Montessori assistant shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• To prepare and clean the environment under the specification of the Montessori teacher,
• To assume responsibility of Lead Teacher in their absence
• To attend meetings and other school functions as specified by the School Director
• To assist in the making of materials for the classroom
• To supervise children’s use of materials as directed
• To participate in record-keeping, assessment of children
• To work with individual and small groups of children
• To be in charge of children’s lunch time/ nap time
• To assist in playground supervision and special activities and projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

Have one or more of the following:

Work experience in a Montessori school or work experience in a Day Care Center.

Work experience with appropriate aged children.

High school diploma or equivalent and read and write in English.

Fulfill all requirements of State and local Licensing agencies.

CPR and first aid certification
