Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to collaborative research programs focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, leveraging omics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics approaches.
  • Engage in clinical and translational research related to pediatric rare diseases, neuropsychiatric syndromes associated with genetic disorders, or psychiatric genomics.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees, and support laboratory administrative functions as needed (up to 5% of effort).
  • Maintain an active record of scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications, grant applications, and academic presentations at regional, national and international scientific meetings.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in neuroscience, genetics or a closely related field from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A record of peer-reviewed original publications demonstrating scholarly productivity.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills in multidisciplinary research settings.
  • Research and / or clinical experience in neurodevelopmental disorders or child and adolescent psychiatric features of genetic syndromes.
  • Background in psychiatric genetics, developmental psychopathology.
  • Interest in contributing to the development of FSU's collaborative genomics infrastructure.

  • The Florida Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases (IPRD) at the Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the area of the genetics of Neurodevelopmental Disorders. We are seeking a candidate with a Ph.D. in neuroscience or human genetics and demonstrated expertise in conducting research in a clinical setting.
  • The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of pediatricians, neuroscientists, geneticists, and other specialists dedicated to advancing research on the genetic basis of neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric conditions in children. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge science at the intersection of neuroscience, pediatrics, and precision medicine within a highly collaborative academic environment.
