JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Assistant, Certified functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. The Medical Assistant, certified performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System medical practice that assist medical and / or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic / office runs smoothly

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Room Patients and intake to include medications, history and vital signs. Complete orders as per provider :

• Ensuring patients have all appropriate surveys completed or providing them with blank surveys
• Enter samples into appropriate logs and ensure EPIC documentation / orders completed.
• Print appropriate forms and assemble folders for new patient groups.

In basket messages - to include :

Review future clinic schedules, call patients for upcoming appointments and procedures

Prior authorizations for medication
