DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Psychological Services Specialist, DHS, you will provide a full range of psychological services to chronically and severely mentally ill consumers in an inpatient hospital setting. You will administer psychological testing, provide psychotherapy, and perform patient risk assessments. You will also work with multi-disciplinary teams to set goals, determine specific treatment approaches, and formulate individual treatment plans. This role requires the ability to form effective relationships, as well as a genuine desire to provide therapy that helps build individual strengths and interests to maintain and enhance levels of functioning and cognitive integrity. In addition, you will document all evaluative procedures and record the progress of consumers in clinical charts, attend regular in-service training programs, and provide treatment feedback to consumers and other team members.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :

A master's degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements :

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening .

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
