The Position

Wilson Elser's White Plains office is currently seeking a Municipal Liability Defense Attorney. This exciting opportunity allows you to play an integral role in defending the interests of local municipalities and private clients through complex and impactful litigation. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in employment, general liability, complex torts, civil rights law and are eager to take on substantial defense litigation responsibilities in a collaborative environment.

As an Associate Attorney, you will work alongside seasoned professionals in a supportive and growth-oriented setting, gaining exposure to a diverse range of legal issues and a variety of complex cases. Responsibilities :

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from inception to resolution
• Work closely with senior attorneys and partners on complex legal projects, contributing to strategic case development.
• Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
• Provide clients with timely and informative status reports, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
• Address high-stakes issues, including First Amendment rights, police misconduct, and land use matters.
• Engage in legal research, drafting motions, and preparing for trials.

Qualifications

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and / or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Salary Range :

$140,000 — $190,000 USD
