Maintenance Technician
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to maintain production machinery and equipment. This entails hands-on troubleshooting and repair procedures. The Tech provides reactionary and emergency maintenance on shift which includes week-end and after-hours call-outs. The Technician performs routine maintenance under CG's Preventative Maintenance Programs as well as all work orders in the Emaint system. The Maintenance Technician helps control spare parts inventories and requisitions repair parts. The Maintenance Technician must develop a strong working knowledge of all production equipment; its operation and expertise in troubleshooting, set-up, and safety. The Technician participates in facilities maintenance and housekeeping. The Maintenance Technician must become certified in Lock Out / Tag Out and as an operator of forklifts, manlifts and tuggers.
The Maintenance Technician works throughout the plant and grounds in the performance of their duties. The plant is climate controlled but the Maintenance Technician may be required to work in areas during periods of extreme temperatures where the work area will become uncomfortably hot or cold. This position works five 8 hour day shifts. The work often requires reaching, bending, kneeling, and working in awkward positions. Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, lifting and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to safely operate and work on or with tools and equipment. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision. Requires the ability to safely lift and load material of up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions. Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts.
Tasks Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Reactionary and Emergency Maintenance : 60% of position responsibility
Preventative Maintenance : 20% of position responsibility
Facility Maintenance : 10% of position responsibility
Other General or Administrative Duties : 10% of position responsibility
