• Work in a 39-bed progressive care unit (23 step down beds, 16 med-surg beds)
• Patient ratios : 1 : 3-4 for step down patients, 1 : 4-6 for med-surg patients
• Day shift : 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 4 PCTs
• Night shift : 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 4 PCTs
• Work with equipment including lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable ventilated patients, and trachs
• Electronic Medical Record system : Cerner
• Perform typical procedures including trach care, chest tubes, and wound dressing changes
• Float to other med-surg and progressive care units as needed
• Weekend requirement : 6 Saturday or Sunday shifts in a 6-week period
• Dress code : Navy blue scrubs
• Must have 2 years nursing experience and experience working with trachs
• Required certifications : ACLS and BLS
• Previous Cerner experience preferred
