We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our client's team in Cottondale, Alabama. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity within the machinery manufacturing industry, offering the chance to contribute to critical financial operations and processes. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing accounting tasks, streamlining processes, and supporting audits while working closely with the Controller.

Responsibilities :

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, with a focus on optimizing and streamlining AP processes.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reviews and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in audit preparation and compliance, providing necessary documentation and support.
• Conduct cost accounting analysis, including standard costing and fixed asset accounting.
• Prepare sales and use tax reports and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs for data analysis and manipulation.
• Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Handle large volumes of data entry with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Infor Sightline, and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Knowledge of fixed asset accounting and standard costing methods.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax regulations and compliance preferred.
