Job Description

SUMMARY : Responsible for examining and verifying of taxpayer financial records to ensure compliance with tax laws. Responsible for accurately recording tax audits daily totals in a timely manner, thereby preventing any reporting liabilities to taxing authorities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :

  • Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Respond to guest inquiries regarding any financial documents provided by the casino while providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Documenting audit results, including findings, adjustments, and recommendations for tax liability corrections.
  • Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced for taxing authorities.
  • Ensures the integrity of the player database system by correcting issues as they are encountered. Examples include incorrect address, TIN#s, spelling, citizenship, or prize information.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert for any team member questions.
  • Reviewing activities, identifying potential discrepancies, calculating tax owed, and communicating findings to taxpayers.
  • Determining the correct amount of taxes owed based on audit findings and applicable tax laws.
  • Assists with the monitoring of all financial activities on property, with respect to Revenue Accounting, to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the company, the Federal and State Tax Commissions, and the Gaming Commission.
  • Detecting potential errors, omissions, or fraudulent activities in tax filings.
  • Assessing the accuracy of financial information presented on tax returns by comparing them to supporting documentation.
  • Troubleshoots in the areas of system errors and / or audit questions.
  • Assists the General Accounting staff in monthly close where appropriate.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all Revenue Accounting Team Members.
  • Ensures to a very high degree the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Ushers as needed by management for events.
  • Performs any reasonable request made by management.

  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : High School diploma or GED required. Two or more year's Revenue Audit experience and at least two years of Revenue Audit tax experience required. Two to three years of additional Casino experience strongly preferred.

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS : Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate. Specialized software knowledge required; this includes Everi Compliance, Everi Back Office, Casino Marketplace, Slot Data Systems, 1099 Pro, and 1042S Pro.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from both internal and external customers, and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical data and report in a concise and auditable format.
