Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an acute care Physical Therapist with at least 3 years of experience and current BLS and CA state license for an inpatient setting.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the acute care inpatient PT department at a stroke-certified center with a heavy orthopedic caseload
  • Daily caseload is approximately 10 patients
  • No wound care responsibilities
  • Shifts are 10-hour days from 7 : 30 to 18 : 00, with a minimum of two weekend shifts per month
  • Must work 3 out of 5 major holidays during the assignment
  • Epic EMR is used; prior experience is required
  • All travelers expected to float between facilities within the state
  • Free parking is available on site
  • Scrub color for therapists is not specified
  • Daily responsibilities focus on acute inpatient rehabilitation for stroke and orthopedic patients
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • All travelers must be willing to float as needed within the state
  • Modules for facility orientation must be completed prior to start and annually as required
  • Return staff are eligible after a 3 month waiting period following permanent employment
  • Requested time off must be included at the time of application; excessive RTO may delay or prevent assignment
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, with different compensation structure
  • Must be willing to cover 3 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day

  • Minimum 3 years of recent acute care physical therapy experience required
  • Current BLS certification is required
  • Valid, in-hand CA PT license required—license required if applicable
  • Experience with Epic charting system is required
  • Two supervisory references covering one year within the last three years required for consideration
  • State and facility-specific compliance documents may be required
