Ayres is seeking a senior municipal water and / or wastewater engineer with a proven track record of technical design and managing municipal utility projects. The successful candidate will have expertise in utility design, water / wastewater distribution and collection systems, and utility relocation projects, with experience in project management, client relations, permitting, design, specification and contract preparation, and construction management.

On Any Given Day, You'll

  • Lead and collaborate on municipal government projects.
  • Design municipal water and / or wastewater systems, including distribution, pumping, storage, treatment, and processes.
  • Manage projects, oversee design and regulatory submissions, ensuring timely, profitable, and quality work.
  • Build and maintain respectful relationships within the team and with clients.
  • Support staff development and mentorship.
  • Engage in professional organizations to maintain and share technical knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Wisconsin or Minnesota.
  • 15+ years of municipal utility design and construction experience.
  • Ability to independently manage small to medium projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Desired Skills and Experiences

  • Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, especially in smaller communities.
  • Experience working with a team of employee-owners to ensure work quality and standards.
