The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with and maintaining the Engineering department priorities to ensure the working order of the hotel. The engineer must be able to work independently, as well as, with others. Responsibilities may include : maintaining the exterior of the building, parking lot, and common areas , maintaining all equipment in guest rooms and public areas, conducting monthly safety inspections and training the staff on safety and emergency procedures, and working with vendors.

Maintain good personal appearance at all times; wear proper uniform and name tag as prescribed by the hotel.Report to our Chief Engineer and perform shift duties and projects as assigned.Ensures "guest first" attitude and provides friendly guest contact experience.Ensures good safety practices of associates and guests throughout the hotel, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.Assist with the preventative maintenance for rooms, public areas, and other department areas with appropriate logs ; rechecks room / suite before releasing to housekeeping / front office.Able to assist with all heating / cooling, voltage systems, wiring, and motors throughout the property.Maintains the hotel grounds; curb appeal and building exteriors consistently.Able to assist with work order assignments. Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner . Monitors all deficiencies. Communicates to the requesting party upon completion when needed.Assist with swimming pool maintenance.Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.Ability to stand & walk for extended periods; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; mobility to bend, squat, stretch when needed during equipment inspection / repairWork as part of a team (hotel staff) and possess a can-do attitudeAdditional duties from the hotel manager will be assigned as necessaryRequired Skills
The Maintenance Engineer must be willing to respond to emergencies, on their shift and assist upper management during these times. This position requires overall maintenance knowledge and trouble shooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry, equipment, and tool usage.
