Role and Responsibilities

Position Objective :

We are seeking an experienced Director to join our Public Policy team and lead our Federal Communications Commission (FCC) strategy and engagement. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in FCC policies and processes, established relationships across the agency, and a track record of successfully navigating complex regulatory environments.

Key responsibilities include :

FCC Advocacy

Monitor, analyze, and engage on FCC rulemakings and other proceedings affecting device manufacturers

Prepare and coordinate FCC advocacy filings

Device Authorization

Serve as the primary liaison between the FCC's Office of Engineering & Technology (OET) and Samsung’s device approval teams to ensure efficient review and approval for innovative, new products

Anticipate and resolve issues that could delay device authorization

Develop and maintain relationships with testing laboratories and technical consultants

External Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with FCC Commissioners' offices, OET leadership, and relevant Bureau staff

Cultivate partnerships with industry associations and peer companies on shared policy priorities

Represent the company at industry forums and FCC events

Internal Collaboration

Partner closely with engineering, product, and legal teams to align on device development timelines and other policy matters

Produce regular written updates to key business leaders on FCC-related issues

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of experience working on FCC matters, with experience in equipment authorization

Established relationships with FCC staff, including OET

Excellent communication skills, with experience drafting regulatory submissions

Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree (JD, technical graduate degree)

Previous work experience at the FCC

Technical background in RF engineering, wireless technology, or related field

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $215,000 and $235,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role. In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for MBO bonus compensation, based on company, division, and individual performance.
