Compensation : $51,300 - $75,000 / year

Position Title : K-8 Music Teacher

Funding Source : General Fund

Reports to : This position reports to and is evaluated by the School Principal

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with Endorsement for desired content area (JQ or JX)
• Previous experience teaching elementary school students strongly preferred.

Position Description : The K-8 Music teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing high quality instruction to all students in their content area. He or she will use a variety of methodologies and curriculum resources to ensure that all students meet grade level content expectations.

Physical Requirements : Light Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects; Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling.

Terms of Employment : Salary & benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. The salary range for certified teachers starts at $51,300. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Evaluation : Performance of this job will be evaluated by the School Principal in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
