Production Manager
Oversee all manufacturing activities at Lenco's (2) Pittsfield locations. Responsible for overseeing production-related activities. Achieve optimum labor, overhead, and raw material costs for the targeted production volume of vehicles per year. Develop a monthly and quarterly Production Schedule based on the established level of business activity. Direct activities to ensure approved products are manufactured on schedule and meet high safety and quality standards. Ensure inventory and shipping / receiving functions are operating at levels that meet established benchmarks, production schedules, and customer requirements.
Production Oversight & Coordination - Effectively manage the efficiency and accuracy of production departments, employees, and processes. Develop and maintain daily production schedules to ensure the timely completion of work orders. Monitor progress of work orders and in-process work to maintain quality and adherence to schedule. Implement, execute, and monitor ERP-generated work orders and reports. Throughout the vehicle build process, collaborate with crew chiefs and production staff to track and resolve missing materials, supplies, fabricated parts, or design issues. Ensure contractual delivery dates are met.
Process Improvement & Quality Assurance - Evaluate and recommend equipment, procedures, facilities, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in production and product development. Monitor work in-process to maintain quality throughout all phases of production. Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate signoffs. Assist with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Staff Management & Development - Manage, motivate, and support employees within the shop area to promote a productive work environment. Delegate work assignments and ensure clear communication of expectations and responsibilities. Train new or reassigned employees in their job functions. Assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities of team members to maximize staff effectiveness and streamline production processes. Assist in hiring, training, developing, and appraising production staff.
Materials & Equipment Management - Assist with material ordering and address material availability concerns. Examine machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning and coordinate maintenance as needed.
Reporting & Communication - Prepare reports and discuss department metrics, workload, and current projects with management.
Experience - A minimum of five (5) years' experience leading a process-oriented manufacturing environment. Experience working in a metal fabrication and welding environment, along with familiarity with automotive products. ERP experience preferred. Six Sigma experience preferred. Lean Manufacturing experience preferred. 5S experience preferred.
Education - High school diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or related field is desirable with additional compensation, but not required.

Ability to see the big picture and maintain attention to detail. Ability to multi-task & meet deadlines. Basic reading, writing & math skills required. Abilities to read & understand wiring schematics and blueprints. Computer skills including Outlook mail, Microsoft Word and Excel. Follow safety policies and procedures.
