About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to join its senior leadership team. The CAO will be responsible for all aspects of fundraising and donor relations, with a focus on developing and executing a comprehensive annual plan for donor engagement. This includes working closely with the President and CEO, the Development Committee of the Board, and the full Board of Directors to leverage relationships and experience in fundraising, including capital campaigns. The successful candidate will be expected to identify and cultivate relationships with individual and institutional donors, manage the full cycle of grant opportunities, and ensure that all fundraising activities are in line with the Foundation's mission.
Applicants for the CAO position at the company should have a minimum of 8 years' of fundraising experience in mission-driven organizations, with a proven track record in cultivating and closing gifts of varying sizes. The role requires a strategic and relationship-focused individual with a passion for the company's work and the ability to effectively communicate its story to engage current and future donors. The ideal candidate will have experience in grant writing, be adept at project management, and have strong organizational skills. Experience in event management, particularly for fundraising activities, is also a significant plus. The CAO will be expected to work closely with the Foundation's leadership, students, and alumni groups, and to maintain and strengthen these relationships.
