What We Do / Project

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Systems Engineer to apply their skillsets to audit, compare, validate and assess infrastructure and application data in ServiceNow. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in MySQL database management, data ingestion and transformation, and data visualization. The ideal candidate will also bring a systems-oriented mindset, with an understanding of infrastructure and network topologies, and familiarity with ServiceNow s complex CMDB and CSDM data models.

Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role

Database Engineering & Optimization

Design, write, and optimize complex MySQL queries for performance and scalability.

Develop recursive table structures to support hierarchical data models and reporting needs.

Implement and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest structured and unstructured data into MySQL databases.

Monitor and tune database performance, ensuring efficient query execution and resource utilization.

Data Visualization & Reporting

Build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel to support business intelligence and operational insights.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data models and visualizations.

Systems & Infrastructure Awareness

Apply knowledge of infrastructure and network topologies to support data architecture decisions and system integrations.

Work closely with IT and DevOps teams to ensure data systems align with broader enterprise architecture.

ServiceNow CMDB Integration (Desired)

Develop familiarity with ServiceNow s Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to support asset tracking, dependency mapping, and service impact analysis.

Assist in aligning data systems with CMDB structures to improve visibility and operational efficiency.

Must Have Skills / Requirements

1) SQL Experience

a. 8+ years of experience; MySQL

2) Data Visualization

a. 8+ years of experience; Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint

3) Power BI Experience

a. 8+ years of experience; Dashboards

Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements

1) Interest or experience in ServiceNow, particularly CMDB modules, is a plus.

Soft Skills :

1) Understanding of recursive data structures and their application in relational databases.

2) Familiarity with infrastructure components such as servers, networks, and cloud environments.

3) Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Technology Requirements :

1) Proficiency in MySQL, including query writing, indexing, and performance tuning.

2) Experience with ETL tools and scripting for data ingestion and transformation.

3) Strong skills in Power BI and Excel for data visualization and reporting.
