Sheppard Pediatric Dentistry is a child-focused dental practice dedicated to delivering gentle, high-quality care for children and individuals with special needs. We strive to make every visit positive, fun, and educational so kids develop healthy, lifelong oral care habits.

We are seeking a friendly, reliable Dental Assistant who is passionate about pediatric (children’s) dentistry. You will support the dentist during procedures, help maintain a smooth patient flow, provide excellent chairside care, and ensure a safe, clean environment.

Experience :

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures
  • Assist dentist during exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, sealants, etc.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays (if state and office requires)
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and operatory
  • Ensure infection control and safety standards are upheld
  • Provide patient support and education (pre- and post-op guidance for children and parents)
  • Record and maintain patient treatment records accurately
  • Help with patient scheduling, follow-ups, and administrative tasks as needed
  • Ensure a warm, comforting environment for children to alleviate fear or anxiety
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Qualifications :

  • Dental Assistant certification / licensure per Arizona state requirements
  • Experience or desire to specialize in pediatric dentistry is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and dental procedures
  • Ability to take dental x-rays (if required by state / office)
  • Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, and maintain a clean work area
