Sheppard Pediatric Dentistry is a child-focused dental practice dedicated to delivering gentle, high-quality care for children and individuals with special needs. We strive to make every visit positive, fun, and educational so kids develop healthy, lifelong oral care habits.

We are seeking a friendly, reliable Dental Assistant who is passionate about pediatric (children’s) dentistry. You will support the dentist during procedures, help maintain a smooth patient flow, provide excellent chairside care, and ensure a safe, clean environment.

Experience :

Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures

Assist dentist during exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, sealants, etc.

Take and develop dental x-rays (if state and office requires)

Sterilize and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and operatory

Ensure infection control and safety standards are upheld

Provide patient support and education (pre- and post-op guidance for children and parents)

Record and maintain patient treatment records accurately

Help with patient scheduling, follow-ups, and administrative tasks as needed

Ensure a warm, comforting environment for children to alleviate fear or anxiety

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications :

Dental Assistant certification / licensure per Arizona state requirements

Experience or desire to specialize in pediatric dentistry is strongly preferred

Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and dental procedures

Ability to take dental x-rays (if required by state / office)

Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented, and maintain a clean work area
